Marketing gorillas? No no no, let’s backtrack here. Guerrilla marketing is an advertising or marketing strategy using interactive, and out of the box ideas to reach customers. Sounds like Norton National, right? While always on our radar, within the last two years we have taken off with our guerrilla marketing efforts for our clients. Take a look at our different tactics here.

Flyer Drops

A favorite here at Norton National, especially with our clients. Printing small, eye-catching, easy to grab and go flyers, is an affordable way to capture a large range of targeted demographics. An example of this could be the Baby Shark Live event! Flyer drop locations would be at local children’s clothing stores, playgrounds, childcare, and anywhere you might find the ‘parent gang’ hanging out. By reaching the parents of these children, you have the opportunity to drive ticket sales even more. Interested in learning more about flyer drops? Check out our in-depth blog here.

Walking Billboards

A great workout, and a great marketing tool! Walking billboards are a way to showcase an event while covering some ground at the same time. Whether a backpack with tall branded flags or an LED board, these eye-catching tools are a great way to draw people in. Oftentimes, pairing them with a flyer or giveaway is a surefire way to get the word out.

Street Teams

Taking our smiley and bubbly brand ambassadors, giving them some goodies, and dropping them in the middle of the strip? Sounds like the perfect marketing strategy. Being a popular tactic at Norton National, our street teams are the best way to interact and advertise at the same time. Our client will oftentimes create flyers, coupons, or fun goodies to pass out to people that market their event. The key to making this strategy successful is finding the ambassadors that will “enthusiastically harass” potential customers and deliver the key points that they are marketing in a professional and exciting manner.

Parketing

Merging parked cars and marketing together, get it? Parketing is a great way to distribute a large number of flyers, in a short amount of time. Typically, it’s best to pick a location or event that will have a large volume of traffic, such as a parking garage or event parking lot. Like-minded events are best to target because of the demographic that will be carried over to the next event. An example of this could be parketing the lot at a baseball game for an upcoming lacrosse event. The audience at a baseball game and lacrosse event can both be characterized as sports fans.

Media Blitz

The early birds get the worms for this activation! We love to take upcoming events and blast them wherever they’ll gain the most traction, and oftentimes that is the radio. Within this activation, expect to see two people (sometimes a mascot if we get lucky) blitzing the radio stations bright and early with goodies to get a plug on the radio. Who knows? Thirty seconds of air time could plant the seed in the early commuters’ minds to check out the upcoming event or show.
