Oof. The events industry took a hit #thanksCOVID, but have you ever known the Norton National team to quit? Absolutely not.

When events slowly began to cancel in various states, Norton National sent out a statement to our talent. We ensured that safety was the most important thing and that protective equipment at the event site would be provided. That was a Wednesday, by Friday the whole country self-imploded, leaving a very pregnant McCall in tears with no events on the horizon.

Our main source of revenue was pulled out from under us and we needed to get creative.

The girl gang pulled together for a kumbaya of what the future holds for Norton National. Local businesses needed to have odd jobs with all the craziness from “Rona”, right? Knowing that our amazing pool of talent had way more to offer than just their Brand Ambassador experience, the #BeyondBA’s campaign was born. A form was sent to our Las Vegas talent asking to list their hidden skills. We were FLOODED with responses! Most Brand Ambassadors work on days off from their everyday careers. Remember that amazing pool of talent I was telling you about? Well, it just got larger! Our talent list has now grown to Accountants, Wedding DJs, Nurses, Dog Walkers, and so much more. (psst, if you haven’t filled it out, do so right now!!)

Now that we had a “Jack or Jill of all trades”, reaching out to new and current clients was the next step. Mass emails were sent offering assistance for temporary admin or labor needs.

As the weeks went on, despite all of our efforts, the demand wasn’t there and doors were temporarily closed. The ladies of Norton National found another way to stay BUSY! Maddy began a small side hustle making masks. She made over 500 masks for people all over Las Vegas and the country. Jordan knocked out some home renovations and began baking (she makes the best carrot cake ever). Katie took advantage of Mother Nature’s comeback by camping, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. Carli single-handedly kept Top Chef on the air by binging every single episode. Finally, Head Honcho McCall gave birth to an entire human baby child. Cutie Fletcher was born on April 1st. YAY!!

After about 6 weeks off, Norton National received the PPP! WOOO MONEY! The year 2020 didn’t look like events (our bread & butter) would be coming back anytime soon, so McCall decided to stir the pot. Refusing to keep doors closed, our Head Honcho announced, “Team, we’re doing something new! Welcome to Norton National 2.0”!

The most asked question we get is, “What do you gals do at Norton National?” and usually the response is “What do you need done? I’m sure we can figure it out.” McCall and Norton National wanted to let you all in on what #TeamPink has been up to.

Event production and staffing still run through our veins. Speaking in glitter and believing in delivering snark, sass, and sparkles to everyone we connect with is still a staple. With that, the new name of the game is education. Not just for our audience, but ourselves. #teamNortonNational wanted to take this time to gain more knowledge on creating events and running a business. From insurance to liquor promos, to human resources and sponsorship. Master experts from all parts of these industries held classes to brain dump at us.

We wanted to let people in on all of the fantastic information that we were learning but in our sparkly way!

#TeamPink goes back to school! Norton National University will be rolling out a series of educational blogs for business creators. We will also be sending out our Pink Collar Newsletter for all Brand Ambassadors and Business Creators. Sign on up for that, → right here!

Why stop there? Since we are also a video production company, we decided to put all of our smarts on YouTube to share with those wanting to learn more. Norton National University takes you step by step on everything you need to know about AV in the event space.

We know you will find value, even the tiniest nugget of good information from the content that we will be putting out there. Coronavirus impacted our business, but the Norton National ladies never miss an opportunity to fight back.
