2. Would you recommend this book to someone else? Why or why not?

McCall: “YES!!!!! Oh my goodness, talk about a real page turner. I couldn’t put it down. Literally. Could. Not. Stop. I have 3 children, ages 5 and under, and stayed up all night reading it and knocked it out in one weekend. This literally never happens in my life, but I couldn’t help it.”

Katie: “YES, YES, YES! This story had my mind blown with the shocking twist at the end! It’s a book that I will be reading again to put the puzzle pieces together. Have you watched The Sixth Sense with Bruce Willis? Yup…that’s right…The Silent Patient is just like that, and will leave you thinking NO WAY!

McCall: “Anyone who is ready to get lost in a book, enjoys a little mental trickery, and eats up suspense.”

4. What do you believe is the correlation between the book title and the story?

McCall: “It’s very literal. There is a patient in the story who commits a crime, and never speaks again. UNTIL…. And never speaks again.”

Katie: “At first read, it’s obvious that the title, The Silent Patient, in regard to Alicia not speaking for years after she kills her husband. However, as the story unfolds, you realize that she may not be the patient that is truly being silent.

5. Were there any quotes from the book that really stuck out to you?

McCall: “… we often mistake love for fireworks- for drama and dysfunction. But real love is very quiet, very still. It’s boring, if seen from the perspective of the high drama. Love is deep and calm- and constant.”

Katie: “Love that doesn’t include honesty doesn’t deserve to be called loved.” and “Need to open my eyes and look- and be aware of life as it is happening, and not simply how I wanted it to be.”
