The bread and butter of Norton National: staffing. Throughout our time of being in this business, we have met some AMAZING brand ambassadors! Our “A-squad”, as we like to call them. However, as you all know, there are always a few bad eggs out there. Here are 5 ways to get yourself un-staffed:

1. Showing Up Late

Sh** happens, we know that! However, in this crazy promo world, planning ahead and allowing for extra time is important. If we tell you to plan for a fifteen-minute early arrival, you probably should just do thirty minutes early. Showing up late can come off as unprepared and disrespectful to the rest of your team and the client. If you’re gonna be late, communicate with your point of contact and team lead.

2. Non-Communicative

Lack of communication is by far my biggest peeve. Unable to make your shift? Call. Running late? Call. Double booked? Call. There’s a good chance you’ll get the boot if you are unable to communicate with your staffing coordinator or team lead, leading up to and on event day.

3. Wrong Attire

Not a fan of khakis, I get it. However, brands have their looks, and as their ambassador, part of the job is looking the part. With plenty of heads-up time as to what the dress code is for your event, there is no excuse for showing up in the incorrect attire. You can rock the khakis, I believe in you.

4. Poor Interaction

The whole point of your job is, ya know, to literally bring the brand to life with experience and interaction! I could try and come up with an excuse for you as to different ways to get around this or justify certain scenarios, but… I don’t have anything for you. You have to put your phone away while on the clock, smile, and have a positive interaction.

  • PHONE AWAY
  • SMILE
  • POSITIVE INTERACTION

5. Doesn’t Work Well in a Team

While not all activations are team-based- the ability to work well with other people is not only a Norton National requirement but is a life skill. You may not always like who you are working with, but it’s important that our brand ambassadors represent the brand well. Part of doing that is elevating the guest’s experience with your team members. Put your big girl/boy panties on, and play well with others. You don’t have to become best friends, but you do have to get along during your shift.

These 5 things are a surefire way to get yourself unstaffed from an event with us but do the opposite, and you’ll be on our A-squad, with the rest of our wonderful tribe, in no time. Take a look at our new website to apply for upcoming events!
